Q. A Bellevue Downtown reader asks: “A lot of new construction downtown is for condos. Is the economy having an impact on sales? Is it likely those projects will get stalled?”

A. The pace of new condo sales has slowed slightly, according to Dean Jones, a residential real estate marketing expert who spoke on the topic at a recent Bellevue Downtown Association Membership Meeting. However, the limited supply of new condos, coupled with robust demand for in-city living, is a market reality that should signal strong ongoing sales activity in Downtown Bellevue. Jones expects all projects currently under construction to move forward as planned.

Also on the home front, a condominium market report provided by Leslie Ota with Windermere Real Estate, shows a recent month’s sales volume in downtown up more than 20% over 2007. The average sales price was up 36%.
