An
Urban Community:
989elements Welcomes First Resident
All the elements
of a fulfilling lifestyle are coming together in Downtown Bellevue
at the aptly named retail and residential community, 989elements.
Located at 989 112th Avenue NE in the City’s Arts District, 989elements
features high-style apartment homes with a host of amenities such
as a private roof-top observation deck, state-of-the-art fitness
center, media room, business center, and lounge and game room. On
the street level of the community, a vibrant retail complex will
include a nightclub, restaurant, and a unique art exhibition space.
The building’s refreshing use of space is meant to encourage social
interaction and connectivity. “People are becoming much more sensitive
to their home environment,” said Jeff Bates, principal of Collins
Woerman, the architectural firm that designed 989elements. “They
want more than just four walls in a convenient location. They want
a place that they can feel comforted, where they can rejuvenate
their spirits and connect with others. That’s what the 989elements
lifestyle expresses – that a life well lived is an art form.”
This artistic expression is found in the architectural detailing
of the building as well. “989elements truly emphasizes architecture
as an art form,” said Bates. “It is not a shy building – it’s very
vigorous with a compelling silhouette, wrapped in glass. There’s
also a real sense of lightness about it – even the residential hallways
will be filled with natural light.”
In the plaza, a double high glass wall facing NE 10th Street will
draw passersby to the building and the activity surrounding it.
“It’s a very extroverted streetscape,” said Bates. “It’s engaging
and approachable. We envision that the activity will literally spill
out onto the sidewalks, pulling more people in.”
The community’s plaza will feature sophisticated landscape architecture
with patterns of colors and textures representing the many landscapes
of the Pacific Northwest. “The plaza’s design will be visible from
individual’s homes,” said Michael Kleer of Weisman Design Group,
the project’s landscape architectural firm. “We’ve essentially
painted a landscape in which people will live, work and play.”
In addition to the amenities offered within its spaces, 989elements
enjoys a particularly well situated location, with easy access to
I-405, 520 and I-90. Nearby is the open space of Ashwood Park and
the Bellevue Regional Library is just two blocks away. And Bellevue
Square, Whole Foods, the Theatre at Meydenbauer Center, and the
downtown Business District are all within easy walking distance,
providing a true urban address.
The apartment homes of 989elements are scheduled for completion
in the Spring of 2006. Individuals interested in pre-leasing a home
can call 425-454-9890 or visit www.989elements.com
