Bellevue Downtown Summer 2009

Urban Living

Adventure. Urban lifestyle. Community. Nita Petry, Area President of Gallagher Benefit Services in Downtown Bellevue, believes living and working in Downtown Bellevue offers it all and then some. Though Nita has worked in Downtown Bellevue for over a decade, she always envisioned moving with her husband to a condo in Seattle. Finally, after commuting to her Bellevue office from Yakima for seven years, it was time for change and a move that would bring her even closer to work than she originally imagined.

Nita had watched Downtown Bellevue grow up — from the opening of Lincoln Square, to an explosion of new restaurants and nightlife spots, to the recent construction of several high-rise residential buildings. Bellevue Towers piqued Nita’s interest by being the first residential project in the city to strive for a top LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) certification. The structure would be built to industry-leading standards in sustainable design, energy conservation, and implement environmentally responsible operating and maintenance practices.

Nita says that “being green” attracted her and is a big selling point for other buyers. “Then, when I added in the easy walk to work, restaurants, parks and shopping, the answer was pretty clear that moving to Downtown Bellevue was the absolute best choice for me.”
