URBAN LIVING
THE CONVENIENCE OF LIVING AND WORKING IN DOWNTOWN BELLEVUE
Majida
Fa’our, husband Sam and their two daughters, ages 9 and 12, arrived
in Old Bellevue four years ago as the new owners of Salute of Bellevue
Italian Ristorante, a 12-year mainstay on Main Street.
She quickly described Old Bellevue as a perfect little world for both
family and the business.
“We moved here from New York City, so we’re accustomed to
a little hustle and bustle, but I feel completely comfortable letting
my girls explore Old Bellevue on their own.” The family has gotten
to know many of the other business owners in the community well.
Their home is just cross the street from Salute at Courtyard off Main. Majida credits Sam’s foot commute as an essential ingredient in running the restaurant and keeping up with the family’s busy lifestyle.
“Family has always been our first priority, and we have carried this philosophy over to our business” Majida explained. “It’s about treating people how you want to be treated and taking that extra step—not just doing what’s required."
As a result, Sam's emphasis on superior customer service has attracted many regulars who have also become good friends.
For family time the Fa’ours enjoy a walk through their Old Bellevue neighborhood to experience what has quickly become a list of family favorites.
First is a stop at Gilbert’s on Main for a scrumptious breakfast bagel. Then it’s a visit to Amore Chocolates to satisfy a sweet tooth followed by a stroll through the Bellevue Downtown Park with Papillon puppy Oreo.
Next is the daughters’ choice for top of the list with a visit to LA Petite Belle Nail Spa for a relaxing mani/pedi.
Happy Hour at Daniel’s Broiler is a top pick for Majida and Sam when they are able to get away from the daily grind. But when asked about their favorite restaurant in Downtown Bellevue it’s still, no surprise, “Salute, hands down!”
