Bellevue Downtown Summer 2008

GET “IN MOTION”

           AND EARN $50

Since 2006, Downtown Bellevue residents have earned nearly $4,000 in prizes for leaving their cars in the garage. This summer, Downtown Bellevue In Motion is back in town with more rewards and ideas to keep you moving. Offered in partnership with King County Metro, the City of Bellevue and TransManage, In Motion strives to encourage residents to make the most of urban living by riding the bus, biking, walking and carpooling more often.

Simply register at www.metrokc.gov/inmotion or call (425) 990-3098, and make your pledge to change two or more trips from driving alone to another mode each week this summer. In return, you’ll receive 10 free ride tickets from King County Metro and Sound Transit to help you get started, plus you’ll have an opportunity to request more information on the travel options that interest you most.
In Motion Keep your pledge, report your trips each week online and you’ll earn up to $50 in Bellevue Collection gift cards. Earn more rewards as a Community Champion by recruiting your friends and neighbors to participate too.

With 24 transit routes connecting you to other locations in Bellevue and the Puget Sound region, as well as numerous bike and pedestrian paths, it’s easier than ever to leave your car at home.

Getting In Motion means good things for your health and the health of the environment too. According to the Puget Sound Clean Air Agency, cars and trucks produce more than 700,000 pounds of smog-forming pollutants on a summer day in the Puget Sound region. However, when you walk or ride a bike, you’re getting great exercise. Or bypass congestion by riding the bus or in a carpool via the HOV lane to experience stress-free travel.

Whether you’re seeking to avoid high gas prices, improve your health or reduce your carbon footprint in Downtown Bellevue, exploring your travel options can have a big impact.
