Bellevue Downtown Spring 2010

Urban Living

Scott Emmert’s quality of life improved dramatically when he made the choice to live and work in Downtown Bellevue.

“I used to commute two plus hours from Gig Harbor each day. It didn’t leave much time for anything else,” Emmert explained.

He is Senior Community Manager at Avalon Meydenbauer apartment homes, which opened in January 2008. A typical work day entails oversight of the community and its operations and maintaining strong relationships with residents and local retailers.

Despite the challenging economy, Avalon Meydenbauer has exceeded sales expectations this past year.

“There has been an abundance of new residential inventory coming online. It has created an exciting, yet demanding environment,” Emmert noted.

Avalon Meydenbauer has distinguished itself from other properties in the market. It offers a variety of fl oor plans, a fitness center, clubhouse, BBQ area, and close proximity to a mix of retail stores and services.

Because he now works and lives downtown, Emmert realizes he is actually part of a growing trend of those who choose to live where they work. Several employees from Microsoft, Expedia and Symetra also call Avalon Meydenabuer home.

What is his absolute favorite thing about living where he works?

“Hands down, being able to spend more time with my family.”
