Spring is Here—Spring Into Gear!

ORCA LogoHave you ever wanted to ride your bike to work but don’t know how to get started? There is no better time than now to begin. Below is a list of events to help you prepare for National Bike to Work Month in May.

APRIL 6, COMMUTER CONNECTION FREE MINOR BICYCLE REPAIR DAY:

If your bike is in need of a small repair such as a fl at tire fi x or a brake adjustment, be sure to stop by Commuter Connection’s Free Minor Bicycle Repair Day on April 6 from 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Labor is free, but there is a small fee for replacement parts. The professional bicycle mechanic can inspect your bike and recommend ways to get your bicycle commute-ready. Can’t make April 6? The mechanic is on site every Tuesday from 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Commuter Connection is located in the Rider Services Building at the Bellevue Transit Center and offers secure indoor bicycle parking and commute planning information.

APRIL 28, INTRODUCTION TO BICYCLE COMMUTING GLASS: Cascade Bicycle Club and the City of Bellevue will be hosting a free Introduction to Bicycle Commuting Class on April 28, from noon to 1:00 p.m. in City Hall room 1E-113. Learn the basics of bicycle commuting directly from the experts! No reservation required.

MAY 21, BIKE TO WORK DAY: If you can only ride your bike one day this spring, make sure to ride on May 21, the offi cial Bike to Work Day. Choose Your Way Bellevue is hosting Downtown Bellevue’s Commute Station at Commuter Connection from 6:00 a.m. to 9:00 a.m. Stop by on your bike for coffee, snacks and give-aways.
