Bellevue Downtown Spring 2009

Pump it up—bike to work!

Put on your helmet, pump up your tires and get pedaling. May is National Bike to Work month, so now’s the time to gear up for a two-wheeled commute.

Great prizes and schwag from Cascade Bicycle Club await cyclists on Bike to Work Day.

If you’re new to bicycle commuting, visit Commuter Connection, located in the Rider Services Building at the Bellevue Transit Center. On Wednesdays from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., a bicycle commute specialist can help you get up to speed with complimentary route planning and minor repairs. Become a member and you’ll have access to secure, indoor bicycle parking 24/7.

Whether you’re a seasoned cyclist or a first-time bicycle commuter, you can participate in the Group Health Commute Challenge. Rally a group of friends or co-workers, register your team and track your miles for a chance to win prizes. Learn more at cbcef.org.

And if you can only cycle to work one day this year, make it Friday, May 15, in celebration of Starbucks Bike to Work Day. TransManage will host Downtown Bellevue’s refreshment station at Commuter Connection from 6 a.m. to 9 a.m. Stop by on your way into town and enjoy a cup of coffee, snacks and prizes. With over 50 public bike racks, not to mention showers and lockers for tenants in many office buildings, you’ve got all the resources you need to get rolling in Downtown Bellevue.
