THE CONVENIENCE OF LIVING AND WORKING IN DOWNTOWN BELLEVUE
When
he’s not buying the latest men’s style trends in New York and Paris,
Marques Warren enjoys using his lunch break to grab a healthy bite to
eat at home and take a walk with his dog through Downtown Bellevue.
As the owner of MARQSMEN, a men’s clothing co-op in Bellevue Square,
choosing to live at 989elements was a natural decision.
“I love vertical living,” Marques said. “Living on the east coast for some time certainly gave me perspective on sustainable living, and I am a big fan of urban life. Naturally, I was very excited about having the opportunity to experience that in my hometown.”
A Seattle native and O’Dea High School graduate, Marques is glad to be living and working back at home. He describes MARQSMEN’s merchandise as casual American menswear, with everything from sleepwear to jeans in a classic style sure to be appreciated by the mature man. The co-op allows him to focus on the details and personalized customer service, an ideal business model for someone whose passion is people. “Working in retail is a great way to experience people and observe the ever-changing pace of life, especially in Downtown Bellevue,” he said.
Marques enjoys living in the Northwest because of easy access to the slopes. “I’d like to say that I am an avid snowboarder, but opening my own business has minimized the number of trips I’m able to make to the slopes in any given season. Still, snowboarding is my favorite hobby.”
Marques enjoys the convenience and amenities that come with living here, too. If he isn’t traveling the world, you may see him enjoying a cup of coffee at Tully’s in Bellevue Square or dining out at his favorite locally-owned restaurant, 0/8 Seafood Grill. He sees it as the best Downtown Bellevue has to offer because of its winning combination.
“Dan Thiessen a great chef and the ambiance is also amazing, with live music and a very entertaining local crowd.”
