Urbanite Lisa Tellus enjoys an evening at her favorite happy hour spot, Daniel’s Broiler. |
Originally from Kansas, Lisa attended the University of Washington. Her life in Downtown Bellevue began with an internship at the Bellevue Chamber of Commerce. She now works full-time as the Chamber’s communications manager.
Lisa enjoys the fast-paced work environment – and the more than 200 annual events the Chamber produces. “There is such a broad spectrum of people we serve throughout the community. I have made some very close friends in my job.” While Lisa knows Downtown Bellevue well from her role at the Chamber, her social life provides plenty of opportunities to explore the city. She shared a few of her favorites.
Daniel’s Broiler tops her list for best happy hour.
“Daniel’s holds a fond place in my heart. It’s a great place to unwind after work and the piano player is awesome. It’s one of the few happy hours that goes until 6:30.” Lisa recommends the crispy artichoke hearts and the prime filet mignon steak strips with a glass of the house cabernet.
Outside of happy hour, Lisa’s favorite hotspot is The Parlor. “I am terrible at pool,” she reports. “But it’s fun because you are doing something together with friends.”
Lisa is also fond of the Rock Bottom Brewery at the Bellevue Galleria. “They do such a good job. They are fast and reasonable.”
For the first-run of movies, Lisa heads to Lincoln Square Cinemas. “They have nice and comfortable seats. I also like that they show both the blockbusters and independent films.”
As for the progress taking shape in Downtown Bellevue Lisa notes, “It’s amazing. It’s happening overnight, right before your eyes.”
