Each year, one delicious thing about Downtown Bellevue remains the same. The annual restaurant guide grows,

September 2009 will be remembered for its many prominent openings. Let’s start with The Bravern: first up,
the Eastside debut of the much-loved Wild Ginger. Next up, an easy bet for a new dining hotspot, is John Howie
Steak. Then, Chef Terrance Brennan expands to Bellevue from New York City with two restaurants: Artisanal
Brasserie & Wine Bar and The Artisanal Table.
Also coming up, Executive Chef Mike Davis and the Seattle-based Heavy Restaurant Group open the muchanticipated
Purple Café & Wine Bar and Barrio at Bellevue Towers. STIR Martini + Raw Bar is already making
a grand splash at Bellevue Place. Canadian restaurateur Earls, known for its upscale casual vibe and expansive
menu, brings its first Washington restaurant to Lincoln Square.
The strong pulse of a city can be felt at its restaurants. Already a thriving center for jobs, culture and retail,
downtown welcomes one more key ingredient: great food.
