DOWNTOWN BELLEVUE: The Growth Series
Part 3 - Our Transportation Future
Thursday, May 29, 2008
The Harbor Club - Bellevue

The growth forecast sets the bold challenge: daily trips to, from and within Downtown Bellevue will more than double by 2020. Transportation issues continue to top our agenda as a region, at the community level and in our association as we grapple with the realities of growth. How will we accommodate this demand and keep people and goods moving?

The third and final part of the "2008 Downtown Growth Series" will present the planning assumptions, initiatives, and progress underway to handle this anticipated increase in trips. The 2003 Downtown Implementation Plan detailed a specific set of improvements. Since then, what's moving forward and what has changed?

Representatives from the City of Bellevue, including Transportation Director Goran Sparrman, will review the data and conclusions the City is working with, as well as the priority projects in the queue and the status of plans from King County Metro and Sound Transit. Sarah Vega, program manager for the BDA's TransManage service, will discuss how several major employers are responding to the mobility challenge.

We invite your curiosity, questions, and concerns at this important dialogue.
